'Buck Naked' Hollywood Airbnb Campers an Eyesore, Say Neighbors

Residents of Hollywood Hills, home to the famed ‘Hollywood sign,’ are used to seeing tourists...just not so much of them.

But naked tourists, letting it all hang out while camping at an unusual Airbnb listing, have residents of the Mansion-lined neighborhood seeing red.

According to NBC4, an Airbnb listing for a “Hollywood Hills Camping Retreat” on La Punta Drive has attracted campers who are able to pitch their tents on a lot amid mansions and within walking distance of the Hollywood Sign. However, neighbors claim those campers are drinking smoking and having sex in plain view.

“People buck naked, people doing sex out in open. Drinking,” resident and father Sanjeeb Kumar told NBC4. “Our own backyard, it’s scary. Scared to come out.”

“I think it’s really hard when a lot of us have children and we are driving by and the kids see strange things and ask, ‘Why is that going on there?’” another neighbor told NBC4.

Actress Dita de Leon, owner of the property and, told KTLA it’s her home and she’s free to do what she pleases with it.

“This is my property. There’s a couple of people making up stories of things happening here that are not happening,” de Leon told KTLA. “They made up stories that people are somehow having sex in a public place. First thing, it’s not public, it’s a private place. And second, that’s completely false.”

The listing, which was taken down by Airbnb but still visible via Google cache, offers the campsite for $35 per night, $40 for guests, and $800 for the month. For an additional fee, guests can use the bathroom next door or make use of a portable toilet and shower.

The neighbors are hoping to have the campsite closed down.
