Candyland Carnival in Town; Habit Burger Coming Next to New CVS

Candyland Amusements has set up shop at 12727 Sherman Way in North Hollywood in the parking of the La Fiesta Swap Meet. The carnival will be there through Sunday and is open from noon until 10 p.m. There are plenty of rides, games and treats to choose from. (Click through the photos to get a closer look.)

The company is based in Tarzana and specializes in small to medium events.

"We travel all around, as far away as Santa Barbara, and we go to lots of places in the Valley," said Candyland owner Raymond Leefe.

Habit Burger Coming

On the same site as the construction of a new CVS store at 4764 Lankershim Blvd., which will be , a smaller construction project has begun several shops down at the end of the plaza next to .

Workers on site and a nearby store owner both told Patch that it will be the location of a Habit Burger, which has 43 restaurant locations in California and Arizona, including several around the Valley. It looks as if the opening will be at least several months away, as the site has been fully gutted.

Quality Stone Supply Liquidation

Quality Stone Supply on 7239 Coldwater Canyon Ave. in North Hollywood is going out of business after 20 years.

The family-owned business specializes in one thing, and one thing only, according to its Web site, which is wholesale natural stone.

After hours on Friday, Patch spotted a large "Liquidation" sign out front with a note posted the front door that read "We are retiring & closing our doors for good and everything must go!" It also said 3/4 inch slabs to 1 1/8 slabs of granite, marble, travertine, lime stone and onyx are selling at cost or bellow, and they are also selling power tools, office furniture and equiptment, electronics and vehicles at discounted prices.

The store's hours are Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
