Cheryl has thrilled thousands of jazz fans as the flame-haired soprano in the vocal group known as THE MANHATTAN TRANSFER. Her work with that group has earned her nine Grammy Awards…not just for vocals but also for writing and arranging. Last year’s solo CD “The Gershwin Album” was named as one of the top 10 jazz CD’s of the year by Jazz Times magazine. Bentyne has also maintained a solid solo career apart from her work with the famous vocal quartet…and that career has taken her from the recording studio, to live performances in jazz clubs and cabarets, and even into the world of motion picture soundtracks. She has been acclaimed for the purity of her voice, the expressiveness of her phrasing, her exciting sense of rhythm.
