Written by J.M. Hall and Hebron Simckes-Joffe, “As Ye Sow” is a dark drama that gives Li the opportunity to explore the darker side of humanity with mood lighting and dark imagery that reveals the turmoil facing the protagonist and those around him.
“For this film, we received many suggestions in terms of mood and blocking in the beginning and gradually we realized what we planned in the pre-production would not work,” he recalled. “So, the director re-designed his shots and blocking according to the suggestions in many scenes. That's the biggest challenge for me too because my lighting scenarios and camera plans were totally overthrown. However, it was a good chance to adapt myself to changing circumstances.”
