Councilman LaBonge Holding 9/11 Ceremony at North Hollywood Park

The 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks will be remembered.

Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge will mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a memorial ceremony at North Hollywood Park.

The ceremony will be held at the 9/11 Memorial in the park, which honors the 78 Californians who died in the attacks and is located on the south side of Magnolia Boulevard. 

The 9/11 Memorial is also featured today on the Huffington Post as part of 911 photos that were gathered from Patch sites all around the country to help tell stories about how the attacks of September 11, 2001, have affected people's lives.

The solemn remembrance will include the the Los Angeles Fire Department, the Los Angeles Police Department, a color guard, a releasing of doves, a bagpiper, poetry reading, music, candle lighting, and a community circle. (See the attached flyer for more details.)

The ceremony will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., but those interested in attending are invited to begin gathering at 4 p.m. United We Plant, The Hollywood Beautification Team, and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks are also hosting the event, which is being supported by the Midtown NoHo Neighborhood Council, the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council, the Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce and the and the Universal City/North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
