Court Upholds Convictions in 2006 North Hollywood Gang-Related Murder

Javier Fuentes and Maria Alaniz, both 21 at the time, were convicted for the shooting of 18-year-old North Hollywood resident Walter Lopez in October 2006.

The Court of Appeal on Friday affirmed the convictions of two people involved in a gang-related murder that claimed the life of an 18-year-old North Hollywood man, according to the Metropolitan News-Enterprise.

Javier Fuentes and Maria Alaniz, both 21 at the time, were convicted for the shooting of 18-year-old North Hollywood resident Walter Lopez in October 2006 at the corner of Troost Avenue and Sylvan Street in North Hollywood. The two shot him in the back with a shotgun.
