Crossing Guard And Girl Struck On Vanowen Street
The driver, who struck and injured a crossing guard and child before school Monday, remained at the scene.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A teenager and a crossing guard were struck before school Monday morning in the Van Nuys/Valley Glen area.
The two were hit in the 13400 block of West Vanowen Street at about 7:20 a.m Monday. Paramedics rush the teen and the crossing guard to a trauma center.
The crossing guard suffered unspecified injuries that are potentially life-threatening, and the 16-year-old girl suffered a possibly broken foot, LAPD Sgt. David Delgado toldKTLA.

The motorist , a man, remained at the scene and was interviewed by officers.
“Appears, possibly, that he couldn’t see very clearly because of … maybe where the sun was in his eyes," Delgado told KTLA, noting police didn't see "any criminal activity."

Vanowen was blocked off at in the hours after the crash for the ongoing police investigation.
