Day 13: Countdown to the Colfax World Fair – Bid on a Mammoth Summer Vacation Rental

The biggest annual event in Valley Village takes place Saturday, June 2.

We’ve got 13 lucky days until the Colfax World Fair, and we hope this good weather will stick around for another couple of weeks. Here are great things you’ll see when you come to the event on Saturday, June 2 at Colfax Charter Elementary School:

Attraction: Hydro Blaster

This is a new attraction for the fair. You can pair up with your best buddy for a race determining who can pump up and pop a balloon the fastest. What makes it even more fun is that you will be pumping up water balloons. Expect to get very wet.

Entertainment: 2nd graders sing Vaudeville

2nd grade teacher Paige Gage puts on an amazing vaudeville show every year in which kids sing songs from the turn of the century, tell corny jokes, and perform magic tricks. Here’s a little taste of what guests will hear during their June 8 performance as they sing “Baby Face” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle March.”

Silent Auction Item: Mammoth in the Summer Vacation Rental

Mammoth is not just for skiing. In the summer, it’s a great place to hike, relax, or enjoy the scenery. The top bidder will win this two bedroom plus loft, one and a half bath condo which sleeps up to 8 people. At night, there are 2 tvs with DVD and cable, and free wifi. It normally rents for $1,000, but you might get it for a song. Well, that and your credit card.

The Colfax Word Fair takes place Saturday, June 2nd from 12:00 noon – 7:00 pm at Colfax Charter Elementary School, 11724 Addison St., Valley Village, 91607. Admission is free and all money raised pays for student programs at Colfax.
