Day 15: Countdown to the Colfax World Fair—Adopt Lucy and Ricky Ricardo!
Colfax Charter Elementary School in Valley Village hosts this 'old world fair' on June 4. Here are some featured attractions.
It’s now 15 days until the Colfax World Fair, which takes place June 4 from noon to 7 p.m. at Colfax Charter Elementary School. The Valley Village Report is highlighting some attractions every day until the day of the fair.
Silent Auction: Adopt Lucy the Rabbit
Receive a personalized adoption certificate and a picture of you and your rabbit proudly posted at the Colfax Farm. You can also adopt Lucy’s mate Ricky Ricardo the rabbit. Sorry… Colfax gets custody of the offspring.

Food Vendor: Colfax Sweet Station
You’ll see the standard carnival lollypops, but the Sweet Station will also be selling healthy snacks like apple slices, grapes, and carrots. Drink carts with water, sodas, juice boxes will be scattered throughout the fair, and we'll have a cappuccino machine, so there will be plenty of opportunities to amp up on both sugar and caffeine.

Game: Golf
It’s not the U.S. Open, and the only golf cart you’ll see is transporting bulky items, but you’ll still get a chance to hit a hole-in-one without that pesky windmill getting in the way.
Entertainment: Colfax Orchestra
More violins per square foot than the Phil (that’s because the kids are smaller). Orchestra is offered to all students in grades three to five. Be sure to catch the amazing and her trombone!
Attraction: Slip & Slide
This is not your garden-hose variety slide. Kids who fantasize about being Superman or Aquaman can become a mashup in this attraction. Take a flying leap and plan to get very wet!
Colfax Charter Elementary School will also be highlighting these features daily on its Facebook and Twitter pages, which are linked to the school website. Anyone who replies, retweets, or leaves a comment on Patch will be entered into a daily drawing to win a Colfax World Fair T-shirt and 10 tickets to the fair. Winners will be announced the next day.
The winner for Day 18 is Helena Placzik, who retweeted on Twitter. Congratulations, Helena!
Colfax Charter Elementary School is located at 11724 Addison St. in Valley Village. Admission and parking at the Colfax World Fair are free. Volunteers and community/business sponsors are welcome.
