Day 19: Countdown to Colfax World's Fair, Win Def Leopard Tickets!

The Colfax World Fair countdown continues with 19 days until the big event. Colfax Charter Elementary School hosts this “old world fair” Saturday, June 4, and every day until then The Valley Village Report will highlight some of the activities that will take place.

Day 19 Featured Silent Auction item: Two tickets to see Def Leppard at the Gibson Amphitheatre in September.

See one of the greatest big-hair bands of the ‘80’s! Blast from the past possibilities include Foolin’, Pour some Sugar on Me, Animal, Love Bites, and Photograph. Your ears will be ringing for weeks.

Day 19 Featured Food Vendor: Cold Stone Creamery Studio City.

Enjoy some fancy hand mixing of some of your favorite ice cream flavors. And the calories you consume will be cancelled out by the miles you walk around the fair.

Day 19 Featured Game: Bull’s-eye.

Pretend the bull’s-eye is you boss, mother-in-law, or least-favorite politician. It’s like a quick therapy session without the couch and co-pay.

Day 19 Featured Entertainment: Colfax Chorus

The Colfax Chorus is a free after-school program available to all 3rd-5th grade students at Colfax. Led by Susan Edwards Martin, this chorus will be singing the Black-eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling, and a mash up of You’ve got a Friend in Me and Put on a Happy Face. Come and sing along (but please… not onstage).

Day 19 Featured Attraction: 51’ Obstacle Course

50-foot obstacle courses are for sissies. You know the scene in Spinal Tap where they talk about amps that go up to 11… “when we need that extra push over the cliff?” That’s what this is. It’s one foot over 50.

Colfax Charter Elementary School will also be highlighting these features daily on both their Facebook and Twitter pages, which are linked to the school website. Anyone who replies, retweets, or leaves a comment on Patch will be entered into a daily drawing to win a Colfax World Fair t-shirt and ten tickets to the fair. Winners will be announced each following day.

The Colfax World Fair takes place Saturday, June 4 from noon till 7 p.m. at Colfax Charter Elementary School – 11724 Addison St., Valley Village.
