Day 6: Countdown to the Colfax World Fair – Party of 5 + 1 at Suburbia

Colfax Charter Elementary School in Valley Village hosts this "old world fair" on June 4. Here are some featured attractions.

We’re down to Day 6 of our 20-Day Countdown to the Colfax World Fair, and the highlighted features just keep getting better.

Food Vendor: Lattes

Supreme Bean and Colfax dad Marc Lizer will be pouring energizing lattes. Not recommended for the kiddies who will already be amped up on sugar.

Booth: Dance Dance Revolution

So much fun fun, you wanna dance dance two two times.

Entertainment: Hip Hop

Colfax’s after-school enrichment class led by Sky High Dance will be dancing up a storm on their feet, hands and heads. Or maybe they’re the kiddies who snuck the lattes.

Attraction: Goliath

At 28 feet high and 64 feet long, it’s no wonder they call this double water slide “Goliath.” Be sure to pack your beach towel. Maybe even two.

Silent Auction Item: Suburbia Mom's Night Out

3-hour party for 6 women hosted at Suburbia Salon on Ventura Blvd.  Each guest will receive a deep conditioner & blow dry, an Artisan cheese selection and wine tasting. Total head-pampering for your scalp, brain and taste buds.

The Colfax World Fair Countdown Day 8 winner is Colfax Kindergarten teacher Michelle Tepper who commented on Patch, correcting me that the kindergartners will be singing This Land is Your Land – not the 1st graders. Oops. The egg on my Facebook is good news for Mrs. Tepper who wins 10 free fair tickets and a Colfax World Fair t-shirt.

Colfax Charter Elementary School is highlighting these daily features on its Facebook and Twitter pages, which are linked to the school Web site. Anyone who replies, retweets, or leaves a comment on Patch will be entered into a daily drawing to win a Colfax World Fair t-shirt and ten tickets to the fair. Winners will be announced each following day.

The Colfax World Fair takes place Saturday, June 4 from noon till 7 p.m. at Colfax Charter Elementary School – 11724 Addison St., Valley Village. This is Colfax’s most profitable annual fundraiser, and all proceeds pay for student enrichment as well as traditional programs that have been slashed by LAUSD budget cuts.
