Day 8: Countdown to the Colfax World Fair – It’s (Veinte) Cinco de Mayo!
The biggest annual event in Valley Village takes place Saturday, June 2.

Today is May 25, also known as (Veinte) Cinco de Mayo, so for the Colfax World Fair countdown we will be highlighting items with a Mexican flair. You’ll see them all at this huge Valley Village community event that raises money for this outstanding California Distinguished School.
Attraction: Big 51' Obstacle
There are two crawl-through holes, so two kids can go at the same time. There’s an 80 square foot bouncing area, pop ups, squeeze-through bumpers, inflated logs, a two-person climber, and a 2-person slide that is eight feet high and 12 feet long.

Game Booth: (Pinto) Bean Bag Toss
It’s actually just your good old-fashioned bean bag toss. Fortunately uncooked beans. You can find the cooked ones in the Taco Booth.

Food Vendor: Tacos
Hilda Rivera and her husband Ricardo will be selling Mexican-style chicken and steak tacos, rice and beans. Extra toppings will include cilantro, onions, limes, red salsa, tomatillo salsa and guacasalsa. So much better than the mild-hot-fire options down the street at Taco Bell.
Entertainment: 4th Grade Songs – Mexican Hat Dance
Hopefully none of the 2-year olds from the Toddler Tent are hiding under the sombreros.
Silent Auction Item: Border Grill
Enjoy a delicious meal with a $75 gift certificate to this hip modern Mexican Restaurant. Located in Downtown L.A., Santa Monica or Las Vegas. Check out their roaming food truck here.
The Colfax Word Fair takes place Saturday, June 2, noon – 7:00 pm at Colfax Charter Elementary School, 11724 Addison St., Valley Village, 91607. Admission is free and all money raised pays for student programs at Colfax. Silent auction items can be viewed by logging clicking here.
