Driver Sought in Cyclist Hit-and-Run

Los Angeles police Tuesday sought a man whose older gray or silver Mercedes-Benz struck an 18-year-old man on a bicycle in North Hollywood Sunday, leaving him seriously injured.

The collision at Oxnard Street and Bellaire Avenue occurred about 6:30 p.m., when the bicyclist, who was riding on Bellaire Avenue, was struck by the Mercedes going west on Oxnard Street.

The bicycle rider, whose name was withheld, suffered what police called major injuries and was taken to a hospital.
