Drunken Gunman Falls Asleep At North Hollywood School: Police

LOS ANGELES, CA — An inebriated gunman fell asleep at on a soccer field at a North Hollywood junior high school Monday morning, triggering a police response.
Police were called to the scene just before students started arriving to school Monday at Oakwood Secondary School on the 11600 block of West Magnolia Boulevard. It was about 7:15 a.m., when someone reported seeing a man passed out on the soccer field with a gun, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman.
"There was a male who was not moving on one of their soccer fields that had a gun nearby," said Eisenman.

Police descended on the scene and approached the suspect, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, she said.
He was arrested without incident, and police are working to determine just what charges he will face, she added. At no point was the school on lockdown because the incident was over before school began for the day, added Eisenman.
