Dump Truck Crash Spills Load of Gravel Across the 5 Freeway
The crash triggered a SigAlert in North Hollywood overnight.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA - A collision between an SUV and a dump truck, which spilled its load of gravel and dirt onto the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway, shut down two lanes but no one was injured, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened just south of Hollywood Way, near the North Hollywood- Burbank boundary, about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, said CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.
The collision initially shut down all southbound lanes and a SigAlert was declared by the CHP at 11:06 p.m., Kimball said. But the CHP later opened up the No. 1 and 2 lanes, and Caltrans was asked to send a crew to clean up the spilled gravel and dirt. The debris was removed and all lanes reopened about 1:40 a.m., according to the CHP.
