Eagle Rock Indie Froyo Shop Expands to North Hollywood Area

Yogurt Haven opened a few months ago at the corner of Vanowen Street and Whitsett Avenue.

Yogurt Haven opened at 12510 Vanowen St. on the Valley Glen/North Hollywood border in late 2011, and is the second location for the independently-owned business, which already has a location in Eagle Rock.

The make-it-yourself frozen yogurt shop offers 57 flavors that continually rotate throughout the year. The Eagle Rock location also has a four-star average on Yelp out of 91 reviews and received major props from Eagle Rock Patch for taking part in The Tap Project, which helps the United Nations Children’s Fund bring clean water and sanitation to children and their families around the world.

Manager Nick Bautista said Yogurt Haven wants to be "open to the community," gave the Tap Project materials pride of place near the front door and also added a cashbox to make it even easier to give to the fundraiser. Bautista also said he contributes to the clean-water-for-kids coffers himself.  "Any tips I get, I put it in the [box.] They need it more than I do."
