North Hollywood West Neighborhood Council (NoHoWest NC) Certification Hearing

LOS ANGELES - The Development Committee for the North Hollywood West Neighborhood Council (NoHoWest NC) - in the last unrepresented area in the San Fernando Valley - invites you to demonstrate your support of its formation by attending the Certification Hearing.

Who:  The Board of Neighborhood Commissioners (B.O.N.C.), The Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (D.O.N.E.), Representatives from the office of Assemblymember Felipe Fuentes, the office of Councilmember Paul Krekorian, and representatives from the L.A.P.D North Hollywood Division.

Where/When:  Saticoy Elementary School Auditorium

                            7850 Ethel Ave., North Hollywood CA. 91605

                       (Between Elkwood & Blythe, west of Coldwater Canyon)

                             January 11, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.

Why:  After three years of conducting outreach, facilitating monthly meetings and creating partnerships with local institutions and city entities, the North Hollywood West Neighborhood Council (NoHoWest NC) is prepared for certification.  Fellow stakeholders are needed to attend the Certification Hearing to demonstrate their support of the formingNeighborhood Council.  With stakeholder support, the NoHoWest NC will become a powerful collective voice that will bring representation and recognition to the community.  The goal is to create a community forum that will affect city decision-making to better serve the neighborhoods.  With certification the NoHoWest NC will receive funds from the city that may be used to support community-based projects that will improve quality of life issues such as the beautification of area neighborhoods, the strengthening of public safety, and assisting local schools, businesses, and non-profits.

 

 

The North Hollywood West Neighborhood Council (NoHoWest NC) borders are Roscoe Blvd. (north), Whitsett Ave. (east), Vanowen (south), and the Tujunga Wash (west).  The website is www.NHWNC.wordpress.com, where you can register to receive updates.
