Firefighters Tackle Small Brush Fire in Griffith Park Area

Crews are monitoring hotspots where a brush fire charred about half an acre.

LOS ANGELES, CA - It took 75 firefighters 51 minutes to put out flames from a brush fire in the Griffith Park area, authorities said.

The fire was reported at about 2:50 p.m. in a quarter-acre of medium to heavy brush in the 4700 block of Crystal Springs Drive, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott said.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported, Scott said.

The flames consumed a half-acre of brush before the flames were doused, he said.

Firefighters were expected to remain on the scene to put out hotspots, Scott said.
