Freshy's International Grill Replaces Nick's Hot Wings

Avo Hakopian, who opened the in the NoHo Arts District on March 26, used to own and operate on Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Valley Plaza in North Hollywood.

"Perhaps opening a hot wings place right next to a KFC wasn't the best idea," Hakopian told Patch with a smile when we paid his new restaurant a visit in March.

The place that used to be Nick's has been undergoing major renovations for months and the new owners seem to have taken Hakopian's lesson to heart. Now Freshy's International Grill at 6506 Laurel Canyon Blvd., the new restaurant is forging an identity of its own and distancing itself from its chicken-centric next door neighbor.

The menu lends itself well to take-out, but there is also plenty of seating where you can relax and enjoy tastes from around the world. Freshy's offers a little bit of something for everyone. There's a breakfast menu where you can make your own omelette, plenty of salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, burritos, kabobs and pasta. Oh, yeah, and you can also get some chicken, too.
