Gang Members Arrested for Allegedly Threatening Teens with Gun, Shooting in Burbank

BURBANK, CA - Two gang members were arrested and two others were being sought for allegedly threatening two teens in Burbank during a non-injury confrontation that was punctuated by gunfire, police reported Tuesday.

The victims -- a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl -- were targeted on Jan. 27 about 9:15 p.m. while walking near Magnolia Boulevard and Shelton Street, Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco said.

The investigation led to the arrests of Alejandro Puebla, 19, of Burbank, and a 16-year-old Burbank boy whose name was not released.

Puebla was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, with bail set at $1 million bail, and was due in court next Tuesday. The prosecution of the 16-year-old is pending.

The victims were confronted by four suspects -- at least two of them armed with handguns -- who threatened them, Losacco said.

"The victims ran away, but were chased down an alley by the suspects," he said. "At some point during the altercation, several gunshots were fired by the suspects. Nobody was struck by gunfire and the victims were not injured."

Surveillance video helped detectives investigating the case.
