Gas Leak at IKEA Construction Site Triggers Neighborhood Evacuations
A preschool is among the businesses that have been ordered to evacuate near the Burbank constructions site of a new IKEA store.

BURBANK, CA -- A gas leak at the construction site of a new IKEA being built in Burbank has forced evacuations in the surrounding area due to a gas main break.
A preschool and banquet hall are two businesses included in the evacuation in the area of South San Fernando Boulevard and East Providencia Avenue in Burbank.
A 4-inch high-pressure gas main leak was reported shortly after 8 a.m. at the 805 South San Fernando construction site, said Burbank Fire Department Battalion Chief Ron Barone.

"As of right now, we are waiting for the gas company to do their thing," said Barone.
