'Ghost Gun' Recovered In Stolen Motorhome In North Hollywood

A convicted felon was arrested after he was caught inside a stolen motorhome with narcotics and a firearm, police said.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Police found narcotics and a "ghost gun" inside a stolen motorhome in North Hollywood this week. The search led to the arrest of a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, officials said Saturday.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Cahuenga Boulevard and Califa Street at about 8 a.m. Wednesday, amid calls about illegal parking in the area, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

Police arrived to find a motorhome without license plants and a covered vehicle identification number.

Ryan Andres, 31, was the occupant of the vehicle, was arrested after police spoke to him, obtained the vehicle's VIN number and confirmed that the motorhome was stolen, police said.

Andres, a convicted felon, was arrested in connection with possessing a "ghost gun," which is an unregulated firearm, a gun that can be built and bought without a background check.
