Gunman Barricaded With Son In Pacoima Neighborhood

Police have shut down a Pacoima neighborhood on reports of an armed man in the area.

PACOIMA, CA — A man armed with a shotgun was taken into custody after he holed up in a garage at a residence in Pacoima with his teenage son, police said.

Officers went to the 13100 block of Hoyt Street on a report of a man with a gun, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A SWAT team was sent to the scene, according to police, who said another child reportedly got out safely. No injuries were reported..

Police had closed off the neighborhood in Pacoima, and people were being advised to avoid the area or shelter in place. A police helicopters was circling the area, and officers have swarmed the neighborhood.
