Police are searching for a man, who brandished a gun near an elementary school in Van Nuys: BREAKING

VAN NUYS, CA — A police search for a gunman Thursday morning triggered a lockdown at a Van Nuys Elementary school.
As of 12: 15 p.m., Los Angeles Police were looking for a possible gang-member who brandished a weapon at 11:15 in the 4700 block of Erwin Street. Nearby Children's Community Elementary School was placed on lockdown, and officers set up a perimeter to search the area. A police dog assisted in the arrest of a 28-year-old man suspected of brandishing a firearm.
"When the units arrived, the possible suspect ran from the area, so they set up a perimeter and are waiting for K9 units to search the area," said Los Angeles Police Department Meghan Aguilar.
