Hiker Airlifted from Griffith Park

A 28-year-old woman was airlifted to safety and hospitalized in serious condition.

A 28-year-old female hiker who called for help from rugged terrain near the Charlie Turner Trail in Griffith Park was hoisted to safety today and taken to a hospital in serious condition.

The woman called for help around 2:35 p.m., according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A firefighter was lowered from a helicopter to reach the woman, who was then lifted to safety, treated by paramedics and taken to a hospital. Fire officials said the woman had an injury to a “lower extremity.”
