Hit-And-Run Collision Causes Southbound 5 Freeway Slowdown

California Highway Patrol said the damaged car was unable to move and was blocking the HOV and fast lane.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A hit-and-run collision has caused a traffic slowdown along the southbound 5 freeway near North Hollywood Wednesday evening. The incident was reported at 6:46 p.m. near the Western Avenue exit.

An initial California Highway Patrol report said a grey Chevrolet was hit by another car on the freeway. The impact made the car impossible to drive, and it was blocking the HOV and fast lane.

A tow truck was dispatched to the location shortly after 7:02 p.m. No injures were reported and a description of the car that caused the crash wasn't immediately available.
