Homeless Woman Charged for Anti-Trump Graffiti

A 37-year-old homeless woman is accused of spray-painting anti-Trump messages on county buildings.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A 37-year-old homeless woman who allegedly spray- painted anti-Donald Trump graffiti on several county government buildings in downtown Los Angeles was charged Monday with four felony counts of vandalism.

Victoria Jayne Bay was stopped on Nov. 22 by Los Angeles police officers on patrol in the area of First Street and Soto Avenue. They noticed she had an open alcoholic beverage in public and then recognized Bay as wanted for tagging buildings two nights earlier, according to Deputy Juanita Navarro- Suarez of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

Bay was arrested and held on $10,000 bail. She was scheduled to be arraigned sometime Monday and prosecutors plan to ask that bail be increased to $40,000, according to the District Attorney's Office.

A vandal was caught on video tagging multiple walls on the Hall of Justice, Hall of Records and the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center, according to Navarro-Suarez.

The District Attorney's Office said the messages were against President- elect Donald Trump, but did not provide further detail.

Authorities originally estimated the damage at roughly $9,000.

The Hall of Justice and the courthouse are in the 200 block of West Temple Street and the Hall of Records is in the 300 block.

A heating and refrigeration plant in the 300 block of West Temple Street was also defaced, according to the criminal complaint.
