Injured Hiker Airlifted From Griffith Park
A woman suffered a "lower extremity" injury during an early morning hike in a remote area of the park Sunday.
GRIFFITH PARK, CA — A woman was airlifted from Griffith Park early Sunday morning after suffering a "lower extremity" injury, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The hiker called for help at about 6:45 a.m., according to spokesman Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The woman had hiked to a remote location near Griffith Park when she injured herself.
Firefighters hiked to the scene, and found the woman with a lower extremity injury, Prange said. The terrain made it challenging to get the hiker to safety without the help of an air lift.
