Krekorian Swearing-in Ceremony on Saturday and LaBonge Bike Ride in July

The celebration at Van Nuys-Sherman Oaks Park will kick off the councilman's first full term.

Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian will be holding a swearing-in ceremony on Saturday to celebrate his first full term serving District 2. The following message was issued in his regular newsletter:

This weekend, Councilmember Paul Krekorian will be hosting a community-wide celebration of Council District 2. The inauguration to officially kick off his first full term will take place on Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m. in VNSO park and will include a food drive, picnic, live entertainment and much more.

"This will be a very special event that will be greatly enhanced by your participation," Krekorian said. "Not only will you have the chance to help swear me in, but, by bringing a canned good or other non-perishable food item, you will be helping the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry."

The event will take place on the southeast corner of the park, located at 14201 Huston St., Sherman Oaks. Free parking is available at lots off Hazeltine Avenue and Huston Street.

LaBonge Bike Ride

Councilman Tom LaBonge is holding a number of bike rides this summer throughout the city, including one through Toluca Lake and NoHo on July 13. Check www.tomlabonge.com for details about the route and meeting spot.
