Krekorian Talent Scam Prevention Act Strikes Again

A second successful prosecution is brought since the law went into effect in January.

Less than a week after the first successful prosecution of a talent manager as a result of the Krekorian Talent Scam Prevention Act of 2009, another talent manager has been convicted for violating the state law.

Hollywood talent manager Pat O'Brien has been convicted of operating a "bait-and-switch scam" on aspiring actors and their parents, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

The conviction comes just three days after "Wunderkind" 21-year-old Studio City talent manager to one count of operating an advance-fee talent representation service and one count of failing to file the proper $50,000 bond with the State Labor Commission.

The act, authored by Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian of District 2 when he was in the State Assembly, says in part that talent managers are not allowed to charge advance fees and only first .
