L.A. Attorney's Office Opposes Condoms In Porn Ballot Measure

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office has filed a lawsuit to keep the June 2012 ballot free of a measure that would , according to the Huffington Post.
City attorneys say the AIDS Healthcare Foundation's proposed measure is unnecessary and will waste taxpayer money, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
According to the lawsuit, there are already state laws in place that address the issue. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation acknowledged this when announcing the ballot initiative.

“At present, there are laws and state statutes to protect adult performers—but there has been no real enforcement,” said Michael Weinstein, president of AIDS Healthcare Foundation, in a press release. “We believe these performers deserve the health and safety protections already afforded them under existing law, and that all levels of government need to be involved in this workplace safety issue."
