Man, 21, Killed By Train In North Hollywood Identified

Authorities identified a young man killed by a train in North Hollywood in what police are calling a tragic accident.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Authorities Thursday identified a 21-year-old man who was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in North Hollywood.

No determination has been made about whether the death of Javier Trujillo of North Hollywood was accidental, according to the county coroner's office.

The fatality occurred around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Sherman Way and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, according to Los Angeles police. Trujillo died at the scene.

The train, which was carrying 46 passengers, was traveling southeast from Ventura to Union Station.
