Man Found Stabbed 4 Blocks From LAPD North Hollywood Station
The victim refused to identify his attacker and told a story that did not add up, police say.
At approximately 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, police officers responded to an emergency call concerning a stabbing victim on the 5600 block of Farmdale Avenue, which is about four blocks from the Los Angeles Police Department North Hollywood Division station.
An "advanced life support" ambulance was also called to the scene over the radio by responding units. The stabbing victim was a hispanic male, and the police on the scene did not release any other information about the man, pending the on-going investigation.
The man was allegedly stabbed in the neck, and a bloody shirt was on the ground at the possible crime scene.

According to LAPD Officer Billy Joe of the North Hollywood station, the victim may have had an altercation with the assailant, most likely close to the corner of Farmdale Avenue and Collins Street, where the victim was found upon their arrival. The victim would not provide further description about the person that stabbed him.
The man was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment of his wounds. Joe said the victim may likely survive because his wound may not be a severe one, "from the amount of blood there (on the shirt)." Joe also commented that "usually there's a greater amount of blood at the scene" from victims in truly grave danger.

According to Joe, the victim had told police that he was actually stabbed near the In-N-Out Burger stand on Lankershim Boulevard several blocks away, then made his way to the Farmdale Avenue location, where he knocked on a resident's door and asked for the resident to call 911. LAPD officers then radioed other units in the area to follow-up on the victim's story, and Joe said that fellow officers were actually at the same In-and-Out Burger stand at the time of the alleged crime and did not see or hear of any such incident, nor did they find any witnesses there to corroborate his story.
Asked if the crime could be possibly gang-related, Joe said the police could not say, due to the lack of information from the victim. Plainclothes officers and detectives were at the scene to investigate. Officers knocked on some doors in the neighborhood to see if there are any witnesses or if anyone could provide additional details about the crime.
