Man Killed By Metrolink Train On Vanowen Street

A man was struck and killed instantly by a Metrolink train in North Hollywood Monday afternoon.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man was struck by a Metrolink train Monday in the North Hollywood area and died at the scene.

Paramedics were sent to the 11000 block of West Vanowen Street about 1:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Information was not immediately available on the identity of the man, who was in his 40s.

The circumstances of the death were under investigation, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

The Ventura County Line 109 train, bound for Moorpark, stopped between the Burbank Airport-South and Van Nuys stations after striking the man, Metrolink reported.
