Man Killed Walking On 170 Freeway In North Hollywood
The fatal incident triggered a SigAlert, shutting down several lanes of the Hollywood (170) Freeway in North Hollywood.
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man walking into traffic on the Hollywood (170) Freeway in North Hollywood was struck and killed Sunday night. The fatality triggered a SigAlert, shutting down the 2, 3 and 4 of the southbound freeway lanes for more than two hours.
The incident happened at about 9 p.m. Sunday on the southbound side of the freeway at Burbank Boulevard, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said. The victim, later identified by the coroner's office as Gary Rollins, 67, died at the scene. Authorities did not say where Rollins was from.
The freeway reopened at 11:21 p.m. Sunday.
