New Later Red Line Schedule Improves the Lives of Workers in North Hollywood

Later hours on weekends makes a big difference to many.

Many workers who toil at night jobs in North Hollywood are thrilled by the change to the Red Line subway schedule, which extends the line's closing times on Friday and Saturday nights to about 2 a.m., an hour later than usual, as reported in the Daily News.

Esperanza Garcia, who washes dishes and plates food at in North Hollywood, uses the Red Line subway to get her to her Hollywood home in 15 minutes. If she misses the last train, however, the bus ride can take 40 minutes.

When she learned of the new Red Line train schedule, she stopped washing dishes for a moment to study the schedule.

"This is better," she said. "It'll be a lot faster to get home."
