NoHo Farmers Market Aims To Satisfy Customers With New Changes

New hours are Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., more parking and free parking in designated areas; more certified organic vendors; and more improvements in the near future.

From the looks of Saturday's attendance at the , things have been picking up over the weeks, and the subtle changes and improvements are being noticed and appreciated by the customers and the vendors.

For one, the market's hours were originally 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but that didn't seem to mesh well with the typical weekend customers who probably wanted to sleep in a little bit, so the hours were altered to better suit them: the market now opens at 10 a.m., and runs until 3 p.m.

And unlike other farmer's markets around Los Angeles and nearby, the NoHo Farmer's Market is operating during the winter season, giving the rather new operation some much needed visibility to those who may not know about it.

The whole layout of the the market is arranged better for pedestrian traffic and situated so that vendors and customers have easier access to parking, and there is even free parking available in lots nearby.

Carol Wyner, the marketing director of the NoHo Farmers Market, says that The The Federal Bar is generously allowing the farmers market customers to park in their lot during the market's operation.

Wyner was excited to point out a few new California certified organic vendors, and was happy to say that they finally have a booth that serves coffee, because people were always asking where they could get a cup.

Along the lines of improvements, food booth spots were reconfigured and placed so they did not face the heat of the sun, helping keep the food fresher while keeping the workers a lot cooler, especially the ones that used heat or flame to make their meals.

Come summertime, Wyner said they hope to figure a way to shade the main walkway, to keep customers and vendors happy.
