North Hollywood Bouncer Charged with Murder for Allegedly Pushing Patron

A North Hollywood Bouncer was charged with murder Monday for allegedly pushing a drunken patron into the road where he was hit by a car.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- A murder charge was filed Monday against a North Hollywood bar bouncer accused of punching a man who landed in the street, where he was struck and killed by a car.

Ernest Reyes, 34, of Arleta, is accused in the Dec. 15 death of 47-year- old Wilfredo Rodriguez and is being held on $1 million bail pending arraignment, which was postponed to Jan. 12.

Police said Rodriguez was intoxicated at the time of the struggle around 1:45 a.m. and fell into the street in the 6300 block of Lankershim Boulevard, where he was struck by a dark-colored sedan that did not stop.

If convicted as charged, Reyes faces a maximum sentence of 15 years to life in prison.
