Washington Post Ranks North Hollywood High in Top 1% of Public Schools
The school receives high marks for continuing to place students in college.

The Washington Post recently listed North Hollywood High School among the top 1 percent of public schools in the nation.
Using a formula the Post has implemented since 1988, the ranking is similar to those the publication has given the school in recent years. This year, the school was ranked No. 169 overall.
"The formula is simple: Divide the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or other college-level tests a school gave in 2010 by the number of graduating seniors," the Post wrote about how it calculates the scores. "While not a measure of the overall quality of the school, the rating can reveal the level of a high school’s commitment to preparing average students for college."
