Is NOW a Good TIme To List My Home?
Why listing your home for sale between Thanksgiving and the New Year might be the best way to get top dollar for your home

One of the questions I hear a lot as the Holiday Season approaches is "should I list my home now or wait until January or February?". Years ago my answer might have been to wait because potential buyers are too busy with cooking, shopping, planning holidays and partying to find time to go out with their agent and look at homes. But that has all changed. Now people are always plugged in. They are receiving listing updates on their many devices and, because of the lack of inventory we have been experiencing here in Los Angeles, they are ready to jump whenever that right home hits the market.
Our lives are more hectic then they once were and many people don't unplug for the Holidays. The busiest times on my website are early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays. My MLS search tool was hopping on Thanksgiving this year. Only problem is that there isn't much in the way of inventory for buyer's to look at. Which brings me to the main reason that the holidays are actually a good time to list this year. Inventory is low, there is a threat of interest rate rising and there are more buyers than listings. Why is that good news? Well, most sellers are still clinging to the notion that homes don't sell during the holidays so The inventory and the competition is usually lighter. Buyers are frustrated right now with the lack of inventory and that frustration grows as sellers take their homes off the market for the holidays.
If you have been thinking about selling then right now is the perfect time. With the right Realtor and marketing you will probably be in escrow by Christmas. A home that looks good, is marketed properly and photographed by a professional will attract motivated buyers regardless of the time of year. And, because of inventory decreasing and interest rates possibly increasing this may just be the time you will get the most for your home
