Learn about Civil War-era photographic technology through a demonstration by collodion plate artist Will Dunniway, then join a conversation about Civil War photographers and the ways that techniques and ideas developed on the battlefield translated to some of the greatest photography of the West. The conversation will be led by Jonathan Spaulding, the Autry’s former Executive Director and Chief Curator; Michael Dawson, rare book and photography dealer; and Jennifer Watts, Curator of Photography at the Huntington Library.
