Pedestrian Killed in North Hollywood Crash Identified

A 63-year-old woman and three children were hurt Sunday when a vehicle careened into them propelled by a crash with another car.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA - Authorities today identified a pedestrian killed when she was hit by one of two vehicles that collided in the North Hollywood area.

The crash in the 12700 block of Vanowen Street was reported about 4:10 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.

Mirna Herrera, 63, of North Hollywood died at a hospital, coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said.

According to police, two vehicles collided while they were westbound on Vanowen Street, and one of them went out of control and hit Herrera and three girls, ages 7, 8 and 13. The girls were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Neither motorist was arrested. The investigation was continuing.
