LAPD officers interview eyewitnesses at the scene, who were all traveling in cars westbound on Burbank Boulevard. The witnesses reported they saw a red Toyota Echo northbound on Riverton Avenue fail to yield to cross-traffic at the Burbank Boulevard intersection where it attempted to make a left turn at a high speed.
The driver then lost control and the vehicle struck three teens riding bikes westbound on Burbank Boulevard, just past Riverton Avenue. The group of bicyclists was thrown by the collision onto a grass area along the curb.
Two of the bikes suffered extensive damage, with the other bike and its owner hardly affected.
During the collision with the bikes, the Echo's front passenger side wheel hit the curb, and the car rebounded back into the street. The driver and the passenger then fled the scene. Witnesses said the hit-and-run suspects appeared to be teenagers.
LAPD officers on the scene say they have the address of the the Echo's registered owner. In a later radio transmission, North Hollywood patrol units reported that they were at the Echo owner's residence on Auckland Avenue.

Patch arrives at the location and sees a BMW SUV that crashed into a fence surrounding the Tujunga Wash. Firefighters have already rescued the women from the BMW and are readying them for transport to Sherman Oaks Hospital. One of the firefighters reports that the women did not suffer life-threatening injuries, and one woman's injuries were minor.
In the intersection sat a wrecked Jaguar, also involved in the accident. Witnesses said the Jaguar was westbound on Burbank Boulevard and the BMW was northbound on Coldwater Canyon Avenue when they collided in the intersection. The BMW careened into the fence by the Tujunga Wash, and the Jaguar spun sideways on the opposite side of Coldwater Canyon Avenue.
The occupants of the Jaguar were said to be a woman driver, a toddler boy and the boy's grandmother. They did not suffer any injuries in the accident, according to a relative who arrived at the scene but declined to provide a name.
11:25 p.m. 6900 block of Radford Avenue, North Hollywood
North Hollywood Division LAPD patrol officers are dispatched to an apartment building in response to a report of a "woman screaming." A rescue ambulance team arrives but does not immediately go into the residence, as it has not yet been cleared for entry by the police.
Several other calls come in to the dispatcher, mostly about a "woman screaming." Some calls originated from Gentry Avenue, which is one street west of Radford Avenue.
As the LAPD units arrive on the scene, residents report another possible suspect with a weapon. He was reportedly seen running from the building, causing additional confusion about what has happened.
The senior lead officer at the incident requests an LAPD helicopter and a small perimeter to be set to contain the possible assailant.
11:38 p.m. 6900 block of Radford Avenue, North Hollywood
As Patch arrives on the scene, several LAPD patrol cars line Radford Avenue, an LAPD air unit is circling above, and two LAFD rescue ambulances are parked in the middle of the street.
There is a gathering of officers near an apartment building where they are interviewing people outside on the sidewalk and talking to people inside the apartment where the alleged assault/stabbing occurred.
On the street in front of the apartment building, police officers are interviewing a possible victim inside a rescue ambulance. A few minutes later, radio calls cancel the police perimeter and the LAPD helicopter flies away.
Police officers determine the incident was only a family dispute, fueled by drunken behavior. During an argument in the apartment, possibly between several persons, a man sustained a minor knife wound to his arm. The man was later treated by the LAFD rescue crew. After being interviewed by LAPD officers, he was arrested and taken away in a patrol car.
Another man who was involved in the incident was also arrested and was being led to another patrol car, when an angry verbal exchange between him and others arose. North Hollywood officers stepped in between the people and defused the situation.
A longtime resident and a fed-up neighbor tells Patch, "This just happens again and again and again." The woman, who declined to be named, said, "There's a bunch of them living in that one tiny apartment. They get drunk, and then they fight. They fight among themselves, and they fight the neighbors. I'm sick of it."

Police officers have discovered a "broken door" and a North Hollywood officer states that this is a "good 459," a burglary crime scene. Several more patrol units are called to assist in case the burglars are still nearby.
After numerous officers have searched the home, it is determined that the burglars have already fled the scene. A later radio transmission reveals that the house was robbed of valuable property.
