Police Chase Ends In North Hollywood Shootout

A police chase ended in an early morning shootout in the area of Sherman Way and Fulton Avenue.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man suspected of shooting at police this morning at the end of a short pursuit in North Hollywood was taken into custody a few hours later.

The search for the gunman began around 2:10 a.m. in the area of Sherman Way and Fulton Avenue, said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division.

A shootout erupted between the suspect and police at the end of the chase, but no one was hurt, police said. It wasn't immediately clear what the suspect was initially wanted for.

The man was taken into custody sometime before 5:30 a.m., according to Lopez.
