Mortuary Attendant Steals Dead Man's Car and Gun: Police
Police arrested a North Hollywood mortuary attendant for allegedly stealing a car and gun from an elderly man he was called to transport.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA A 41-year-old mortuary attendant was arrested for allegedly stealing a vehicle and a gun from the home of a deceased man in Lancaster, according to the sheriff's department.
Fernando Moguel was arrested about 11:35 a.m. Wednesday in the 6000 block of Coldwater Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood, according to Deputy Kevin Moody.
On Saturday, March 5, an elderly man died in Lancaster and Moguel responded to his home to take custody of the man's body, Moody said.

Within 48 hours after the man's death, his car and a gun were stolen from his house. A follow-up investigation revealed the car's title was transferred into Moguel's name, Moody said.
Detectives then served a search warrant at Moguel's residence and recovered the car and the gun, according to Moody.

Moguel was then arrested and was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail, according to jail records.
A court date for Moguel has not been set.
