The new district lines would almost completely change Councilman Tom LaBonge's territory in the Valley, as he stands to lost Toluca Lake, the NoHo Arts District and his portion of Studio City in favor of Sherman Oaks, Encino, Van Nuys and other areas. LaBonge is not pleased with the new maps.

"The function of the commission is to listen to the people, and I don't know if they listened to the people as it's been drafted," LaBonge told ABC7. "...That's a matter of years that you develop these relationships. That all disappears if you have a new district."

Councilman Krekorian has yet to directly address the new proposed districts, which could see him lose the Sunland area in favor of gaining territory in NoHo, Toluca Lake and Studio City. But before the proposed boundaries were announced, , "I have the most awkward, gerrymandered district in the city, but I love it. They elected me twice."

Other Patch readers have chimed in:

: "CD2 makes sense. CD4 is nuts."

: "It does look funky for some districts ie LaBonge, but they finally put all of the North Hollywood neighborhoods together; the way it should have been. I hope Cd2's proposed boundaries stick. Would love to have Krekorian represent."

: "Any time without Mr. 'find me a camera' LaBonge is a good time!!!!! Krekorian would be a breath of fresh air!"

: "Loving the way CD2's boundaries are drawn. NoHo, Studio City, Toluca and Valley Village together. Synergy."

: "All organized groups in Toluca Lake are in OPPOSITION to moving to CD2. The boards of Greater Toluca Neighborhood Council, Toluca Lake Chamber of Commerce and Toluca Lake Homeowners Association have all voted to stay in CD4."
