Precautions Taken at All LAUSD Middle and High Schools Following Threat

The Los Angeles Unified School District instituted a series of precautions based on a threat authorities have since deemed "non-credible."

A "non-credible" threat was made today involving schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District, authorities said.

"Precautionary steps were taken this morning at all middle and high schools in response to a non-credible threat as determined by law enforcement," LAUSD Superintendent Michelle King said in a statement.

"The precautionary steps at secondary schools included walk-throughs by school police and site administrators, in an abundance of caution," King said.

"No evidence was found to substantiate this threat, and all schools are operating normally," she said. "We are confident all schools are safe. We appreciate everyone's cooperation in this matter. The safety of students and staff is the highest priority at L.A. Unified."
