SigAlert: 101 Freeway Pileup Shuts Down Fast Lanes
A three car pile-up in the Toluca Lake area backed up the morning rush hour.
TOLUCA LAKE, CA — A three car pile-up on the 101 Freeway shut down at least two lanes of the freeway during the morning rush hour Thursday, prompting the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert.
The crash involving a Nissan, Volkswagen and Toyota occurred at 7:57 just north of Vineland Avenue on the southbound side of the freeway. According to the CHP, the crash blocked the 1 and 2 lanes. The SigAlert was one of several issued across Los Angeles Tuesday morning as the Christmas storm flooding freeways, caused crashes and even prompted a tornado warning.
