The Other Door Hosting 'Sparkle On Marylin!' Benefit for NoHo Resident with Cancer
If you have ever met Marilyn Giardino Zych, she is most likely the most eccentric, creative, and passionate person you know.
I met Marilyn Giardino-Zych when she was a teacher on the set of a student project at L.A. Film School. She has worked for over thirty years as a script supervisor in Hollywood on films like Blue Lagoon, American Beauty and many other.
We immediately realized we were kindred spirits and became fast and very close friends. Over the years she has helped me enormously. Particularly after I lost my job—she moved in to my little flat here in North Hollywood and basically saved my life in doing so. Please check out her amazing story here or in the attached YouTube video.
It's hard to put into words all that Marilyn is: dancer, filmmaker, producer, actress, clown, but most of all a woman who is vibrant and big-hearted. Earlier in the year she was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. To help her out with medical costs and care, R.A.I.D. (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance) is hosting Sparkle On Marilyn!—a night of circus, revelry & entertainment right here in NoHo on Friday at at 10437 Burbank Blvd.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a suggested donation of $5 (more is greatly appreciated) and $10 for (optional and delectable) dinner provided by The Flat Iron Steak Truck. This event is being sponsored by R.A.I.D. (Random Acts of Irreverent Dance) as Marilyn is one of our fellow dancers. We are creating a night of entertainment that is as colorful, whimsical and joyous as she is!
The list of performers who will knock your socks off. They including: Scot Nery (contortionist and pancake juggler), some performers from the Sideshow Sirens (including Marilyn's daughter, Christine Nova Zych). DJ Paul V. will be spinning, Shyboy will be singing and the sexy burlesque sensation RaRa Sis Bomba will be performing just to mention a very few. There will be many fun surprises as well and everyone is strongly encouraged to wear sequined attire to the event.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this most extraordinary woman's life and add to the fun of the evening. If you are unable to attend the event please consider making a donation (even a dollar helps!) at:http://www.indiegogo.com/marilyngiardinozych?c=home
