Suspected Gunman Triggers North Hollywood Manhunt

Police shut down the area around Lankershim Boulevard and Oxnard Street Wednesday night while searching for a gunman.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A suspected gunman triggered a two hour police search that shut down a North Hollywood neighborhood Wednesday night.

Police received a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of Lankershim Boulevard and Oxnard Street in North Hollywood at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers set up a perimeter around the area and used police dogs to hunt the man down, taking him into custody shortly before 9:30 p.m., according to a police spokesman. Officers continued to look for a gun they believe the suspect may have ditched while trying to evade officers.
